Amon Amarth is on the “Metal Crushes All” tour with a lineup that is a treat for any Metal Lover. The Tour features Not only Amon Amarth but also Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, and Frozen Soul. The stop on 5/13 was at The Fillmore Philadelphia. The night started with Frozen Soul which was a perfect start for the night. The Texas band got the Philly fans to cheer for them throughout the setlist that consisted of - Morbid Effigy, Merciless, etc. Right after them, it was one of the icons of the Death Metal Genre - Obituary. They dominated the stage to show why they are one of the legends of Metal. The set list contained songs from their newest album “Dying of Everything” and some more. Next up it was Cannibal Corpse and the headbanging never stopped on and off the stage. George Fisher showed why he is one of the most brutal vocalists of the genre. Alex Webster on the bass, Paul Mazurkiewicz on the drums, Rob Barrett, and Erik Rutan on the guitars basically destroyed the stage with insane energy. The setlists consisted of some hits like - Hammer Smashed Face, I Cum Blood, Evisceration Plague, etc. Finally, the stage was cleared and the black curtain was removed to reveal the full stage with a big viking mask. It was set for the final act - the legendary Swedish “Viking metal” band Amon Amarth. Johan Hegg on vocals, Olavi Mikkonen, Johan Söderberg on the guitars, Ted Lundström on the bass, and Jocke Wallgren on the drums just dominated the whole stage with a stunning performance. They all were dressed as per the Viking theme and at a time there was Loki on stage whom Johan fought with. The setlist consisted of their biggest hits like - Twilight of the Thunder God, Raise your Horns, Guardians of Asgaard, and many more. Overall it was a great show and treat for any Metal lovers to see all these 4 bands live. Kudos to the management, venue, publicist, and organizers for the successful execution.
