There are a few bands who get a cult following like Sublime did back in the 90s. The self-titled album back in 1996 stirred the music industry with a sound that is genre-blending and unique. But that was also the year when the lead singer of the band Bradley Nowell died. Since then though the members of the band experimented with other musicians, but the fans were hoping for a true Sublime comeback. It was during the end of December that Eric Wilson - the original bassist, and Bud Gaugh - the original drummer of Sublime united with Bradley’s son Jakob Nowell for a come of Sublime. Since then the band has been doing shows all over the US and on September 26th they stopped by in Pennsylvania at the Parx Casino, Bensalem. We could see that the fans were really eager to see the new version of the band wearing the popular Sublime shirt. There was no opening act and Sublime came on stage around 8 PM. From the first song, it was a treat for the audience with back-to-back famous tracks. Jakob definitely sounds and reminds of his father, but he still has his own flare. The band was accompanied by DJ Doug Boyce AKA DJ Product and Trey Pangborn on guitar. Since there was no opening act, there was news of a big surprise during the show. At a point of a show, Jakob took the mic to welcome legendary H.R. of Bad Brains and fans cheered their hearts out in awe and respect. They performed the famous song “Day Tripper/ She’s a Rainbow”. There was even a solo by Jakob performing “Boss DJ”. The band performed most of their hits in the setlist like - “Wrong Way”, “Bad Fish”, “Doin’ Time” and the legendary “What I Got”. Overall it was a great show and experience for the fans to see the band perform. Finally a big shoutout to the management, and organizers for the successful execution of the show.
