Jason Mraz is on his celebrated North America tour that started in July 2023 and is almost at the end. It was great to be able to see him live in Philadelphia on Aug 9 at the Mann Center. The tour is called The Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride - as the name suggests it is quite a celebration. The night started with “9theory” - the mixer and producer created some great music to start the night with a great vibe. I particularly liked his mixing with the famous “Narcos” track. The high point was when Jason made a small appearance to perform with him for a song. Next on stage, it was Monica Martin. The setup was simple with 2 guitarists and she was able to create a great ambiance with her amazing vocals. Her voice created a vibe that was soothing and powerful. Accompanied by her witty and funny comments in between her songs, it was a great set that everyone enjoyed. I absolutely liked her rendition of the Beatle's famous “In My Life”.
Finally, on the back LED screen, the announcement was made to get ready for the Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride and Jason Mraz with his superband. It was an absolute celebration for the next around 90 mins. Jason along with his bandmates danced, sang, laughed, and switched places between different musical instruments. There was a time when three of his trombone and saxophone players came into the audience to play. They were obviously performing for the audience, but it was clear that they were enjoying themselves to the fullest. The setlist consisted of songs from his latest album “Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride”, but also some of his biggest hits like - “The Remedy”, “Have it all”, “93 Million Miles”, “Lucky”, “I Won’t Give Up” and “I’m Yours”.
I am sure after the show all the fans were in the best of their moods. Finally a shoutout to the management, organizers, and Livenations for the successful execution of the show.
