Baroness is a band that almost has a cult following - and it was proved again in Philly on March 6th with a Sold-Out show at the Underground Arts. The show was part of the 3-city tour on the East Coast. The night started with Blood Vulture and Commitment - 2 bands with 2 different flavors of music that kicked off the night. It was almost 9:45 PM when Baroness came to the stage, and from the first note, the crowd was ready to sing along with the band for each song. John Dyer Baizley on the vocals and Rhythm guitar, Gina Gleason on the lead guitar, Nick Jost on the bass, and Sebastian Thomson on the drums performed some of their best tracks that can only be described as genre-blending heavy metal music. The Grammy-nominated band performed songs like “Isak”, “Shock Me”, “Take My Bones Away”, and special mention for the personal favorite “Green Theme”. Some shows are not just about headbanging, Heavy riffs, Loud music - sometimes it is about the purity of the music that reflects into the emotions of all the fans. It was such a show. Philly is ready to welcome Baroness again for the next show - whenever that is. Finally, a shoutout to the organizers, management, and the venue for successfully executing the event.
