Thievery Corporation is touring North America with the support of City of the Sun and on March 11 the stop was in Philadelphia at the Brooklyn Bowl. The ambiance was set with some good reggae music played by DJ Rob Paine. The crowd started vibing before the first act on the stage. City of the Sun came to the stage at 8 PM and for about 45 minutes they engaged the whole crowd with some pure post-rock instrumentals. The 4 part band played some tracks that are so much technically sound that even without any vocals they were a treat to the ears. At around 9:30 PM, Thievery Corporation took the stage. Eric Hilton was not present during the live performance but Rob Garza along with other musicians like Rob Myers on Sitar and Guitar, Frank Orrall on Purcussions, Mr. Liff & Laura Vall on the vocals, and many more created almost a carnival on the stage for the whole set. The sound created was a blend of different genres like Electronic, Hiphop, Dub, and even Indian Classical - almost a celebration of music. It was a party going on with the audience dancing and vibing to the amazing music. Overall it was a great show and we would highly recommend catching them live on this leg of the tour or when the tour resumes again in May. A big shoutout to the management, publicist, and organizers for the successful execution of the show.
