Better Lovers the Hardcore Punk supergroup that has created quite a noise in the music scene of recent times is touring North America and on 11/11 the stop was in Philadelphia at the Union Transfer. The lineup for the night was varied in genres with Full of Hell, SPY, and Cloakroom. The night started with Cloakroom and their unique style and blend of music that created an environment to kick off the night. Next up it was SPY - one of the important bands from the Bay Area hardcore scene and they took the energy of the room to the roof. The presence of the band especially the vocalist Peter Pawlak on stage was power-packed and they performed songs like - “Afraid of Everything”, and “Booklicker”. Next up it was Full of Hell and the ambiance of the hall took a dark turn. The red light throughout the set along with the music which effectively uses noise - makes it more sinister. The band performed songs like - “Crawling Back to God”, “Guided Blight”, and “Coagulated Bliss”. Finally, the stage was set for the final and main act - Better Lovers and what a performance it was. Each members of the band were committed to give the fullest throughout the set that contained almost all the songs of the new album “Highly Irresponsible” which is also the name of the tour. Greg Puciato on the vocals, Jordan Buckley and Will Putney on the Guitar, Steve Micciche on the Bass, and Clayton "Goose" Holyoak on the drums were more than what the audience wished for, and the energy of the band transformed the audience with constant crowd surfers and moshing. We would “Highly” recommend catching them live on one of the upcoming shows. Finally kudos to the organizers, publicist, and management for the successful execution of the show.
