Max and Igor Cavalera, the heavy metal legends from Brazil, are touring with their band Cavalera, accompanied by Necrot and Dead Heat. On the day of March 12, the stop was at The Queen in Delaware with another band, Backlash. The Queen is a historic venue, and it was a great place to host the original members of the early Sepultura lineup - the Cavalera brothers. The night started with Backlash - a hardcore band from DC. They set the tone for the night with some hard-hitting numbers. Next up, Dead Heat came to the stage with some energy that was contagious to the crowd. The California band is a Thrash and Hardcore crossover, and the songs were heavy enough, such as “The Fall” and “Endless Torment”. Up next, it was Necrot - the 3-part death metal band from California, and they were definitely heavy. The band brought up a different flavor from the previous two, and it was a great transition to the final act. Necrot performed songs like “Cut the Chord” and “Lifeless Birth”. Finally, the stage was set for the final act - Cavalera and they were about to perform the full early Sepultura album, Schizophrenia, from 1987. They re-released the album last year, and this tour is to celebrate the album. It was great to see the Cavalera brothers, and sharing the stage with them was Max’s son, Igor Amadeus Cavalera on the Bass and Travis Stone on the Guitar. I have to mention the visuals on the 2 LED TVs on the back - I would love to see the visuals on a big screen. The presence of Max and Igor on the stage was something to watch out for for any Heavy Metal lovers. They ended the night with a Slayer cover of “Black Magic”. Overall, it was an amazing show, and we highly recommend catching them live. Finally, a big shoutout to the management, organizers, and the venue for the successful execution of the show.
