It was a day of celebration in Philly when Circa Survive came back to live once again after a 4 year break. Sep 15 at the Fillmore was the first night of the 3 nights Circa Survive performed there. The sold-out venue and the fans showed how much they love the local legends. The band is one of the most experimental who blends different elements of music - progressive, emo, hardcore, and alt rock. The fans, consisting of different age groups, were ready to experience the band after a long gap. It was emotional for a lot of fans, and it was clearly visible. When Circa Survive took the stage around 9:30 PM, there was no coming back. It was a constant flow of crowdsurfers, and the audience was singing each song word for word. Anthony Green, as the vocalist, is not only known for his unique sound but also his stage presence, and he did not disappoint. Colin Frangicetto, Brendan Ekstrom on the guitars, Nick Beard on the bass, Steve Clifford on drums, and touring member Keith Goodwin on the keyboards took the whole performance to a different level. The setlist consisted of songs from all of their albums. Songs like “Stop the Fu*king Car”, “Act Appalled”, “Get Out”, and “Holding Someone’s Hair Back”. Overall, it was an amazing start to the 3-day event and for the band to get ready for the upcoming festivals. Big shoutout to the organizers, management, and venue for the successful execution of the night.
