If you ever wondered how to sustain a music career for over 30 years, consistency and never missing when making an album is key. Converge has proven that fact yet again with their latest album, Love is Not Enough.
Saturday night, the crowd packed the Fillmore in Philly. Balmora and Spy both opening up the night and priming the audience for Converge. Ripping up the stage and beating the crowd senseless, Converge played a set that old and new fans would love, from old classics to new tracks from Love is Not Enough, and even their second upcoming release of 2026, Hum of Hurt.
The sound inside the Fillmore was dense but not muddy, allowing the band’s famously complex arrangements to cut through the chaos. It’s a testament to both the venue and the band’s live discipline; despite their reputation for ferocity, nothing felt sloppy. Every blast beat and feedback swell landed exactly where it needed to.
By the end of the night, the room was exhausted. Not in the passive, post-show sense, but in the way you feel after something genuinely physical—like you’ve endured something rather than simply watched it. That’s the Converge experience: not a performance you observe, but one you’re pulled into, whether you’re ready or not.
