Two of the Iconic LA heavy metal bands from the 80s W.A.S.P and Armored Saint are touring North America and on November 17th the stop was in Philly at The Franklin Music Hall. The fans came in with lots of nostalgia to re-live the classic Heavy Metal era of the 1980s. Armored Saint kicked off the night at 8 PM and the energy of the room peaked from the get-go. It was clear that the crowd was not only there to see the final act but a big fan base was of Armored Saint’s. The guitar solos by Jeff Duncan and Phil Sandoval were amazing. Gonzo Sandoval was a powerhouse behind the drums with perfect accompaniment by Joey Vera on the Bass. But John Bush on the vocals was the center of attention and even at one point he ran up to the VIP box and performed from there. The setlist consisted of songs like - “Can U Deliver”, “Reign of Fire”, and “March of the Saint”. Next up it was the final and the main act - W.A.S.P. The elements of shock rock was not only how they dressed up, but also how the stage was set with Chains and Skulls. Blackie Lawless took the center stage with his famous guitar and one-of-a-kind mic stand. Mike Duda on the Bass, Doug Blair on the Guitar, and Aquiles Priester on the drums performed all the hits like - “I Wanna Be Somebody”, “Wild Child”, “Sleeping (In the Fire)”, and even a cover of The Who song “The Real Me”. Catch them live near your cities as they continue the tour. Finally kudos to the organizers, management, and the venue for the successful execution of the show.
