Two of the biggest names of the heavy metal scene for the past 20 years and more, Killswitch Engage and Machine Head, are touring North America. On June 13th, the stop was in Bethlehem, PA, at the Wind Creek Event Center. The night started with Havok and Iron Reagan, and it was perfect to jump-start the energy of the room. At around 8:15 PM, Machine Head came on stage with great Robb Flynn as the frontman with his guitar, Jared MacEachern on bass, Matt Alston on the drums, and Ben Eller on the guitars as the touring member. From the get-go, hit after hit came along with songs like “Imperium”, “Is There Anybody Out There”, “Davidian”. Machine Head is such a band that has touched different subgenres of heavy metal, and so they have got something for everyone - groove metal, thrash metal, and nu metal. Robb Flynn is such an influential front man, and it is great to see him rock the stage year after year. Finally, at around 9:30 PM, the stage was all set for the final act - Killswitch Engage. They are one of the most influential metalcore bands of all time - their presence from the first songs basically peaked the energy of the room to the top with constant crowd surfers. Jesse Leach is such a great frontman, and on top of that, he was paying tribute by rocking a Bob Marley T-shirt. Adam Dutkiewicz, with his famous “I am with Stupid” T-shirt, is someone that the crowd really enjoys for his presence. Mike D'Antonio with his bass was dominating with his headbanging, Joel Stroetzel producing the amazing riffs, and Justin Foley was creating destruction on the drums. The background screen visuals were some great artworks and even past music videos of the band. They made sure to perform all the hits but did mention that they are switching the setlist from what they have been performing so far. The setlist contained - “In Due Time”, “The End of Heartache”, “My Curse” and more. It was an absolute rocking night, and we highly recommend catching them live soon. Finally, a big shoutout to the management, publicists, and the venue for the successful execution of the show.
