It is not a regular winter night when Philly gets to witness a French band performing. L'Impératrice is on their North American tour after a successful European touch in 2024 and on Jan 17th the stop was in Philly at the Franklin Music Hall. The Nu- Disco band has become really popular not only in Europe but in the US as well. The tour is to celebrate the new album Pulsar which came out in 2024. The night started with Philly’s local DJ Romain Let Us and it was the opportunity for the audience to get warmed up as the crowd was building up. He played different genres of music blending with Disco beats ranging from Tribal to Rage Against the Machine and the crowd enjoyed it. Finally, the stage was set up for the main act and we have to admit the set decor was really nice with perfect retro vibes.  At 9 PM L'Impératrice took the stage in almost a symmetrical manner - Tom Daveau on drums on the upper platform, David Gaugué and Achille Trocellier on the Bass and Guitar took two sides, Charles de Boisseguin and Hagni Gwon on the keyboards on the center and finally their newest member Maud "Louve" Ferron on the vocals took the front stage. The coordinated dress with a light on the chest that glows to the beats was unique. The background lighting also made the hall look stunning. The performance of the band was what the audience was looking for and it was clear that they did not miss a beat. The crowd was dancing, vibing, and singing along to the music. The setlist consisted of songs from the new album - Pulsar, and also other hits like - “Vanille Fraise”, “Voodoo?”, “Aginations Tropicales”. It was a great show and a big shoutout to the organizers, venue, and management for the successful execution of the show.
