It was a homecoming show for Sweet Pill on March 19th at the Union Transfer. The Philly-based Emo/ Punk Rock band is on a North American tour, AKA “Still There’s a Glow” US tour, touching almost all the major cities. The tour is supported by 2 other bands - Spaced and Heart to Gold. On March 19th, it was a full house at the Union Transfer with fans ready to support the hometown heroes. Zayna Youssef, on the vocals, is a powerhouse performer. Sean McCall on the guitars and backing vocals also made sure to shout “Go Birds” to cheer the audiance up. Jayce Williams on the guitar, Ryan Cullen on the bass, and Chris Kearney are absolutely on point to create the sound that is making quite a stir in the music scene all over the US. As the tour name suggested it tour was to celebrate the new namesake album, but they made sure to perform songs from their amazing previous album “Where the Heart is”. Also, special mention for both the album arts - absolutely frameable. The setlist consisted of songs like “Sunblind”, “Diamond Eyes”, “Cut”, and “High Hopes”. The fans reciprocated with a constant flow of Crownsurfers and a big mosh pit. The band always made sure to have statements about politics and the world; they did not shied away from that on this show as well. Overall, it was a great show in Philly and an absolute treat for any fans. Finally, a big shoutout to the organizers, management, and the venue for successful execution.
