Legendary Heavy Metal guitarist Kerry King released his first-ever solo album “From the Hell I Rise” and to celebrate the album he is currently on the North America tour. On February 5th the stop was at TLA Philly. The tour was supported by 2 of the great bands - Municipal Waster and Alien Weaponry. The night started with Alien Weaponry, all the way from New Zealand. The Band is known to blend Nu Metal Elements with indigenous “Maori” cultural elements. The energy of the band was more than enough to kickstart the night and it was clear that they have a good fan base far from their own country. The three-part band performed some heavy foot stomping music like - “Kai Tangata”, “Mau Moko” and “Holding my Breath”. Next up it was one of important names of the Crossover Thrash - Municipal Waste. The band has a lot of classic thrash elements in how they perform and present themselves - not to forget the two punk zombies coming out of the hazardous drums on the stage. Not only the music was heavy headbanging thrash, but it was a lot of fun. Tony Foresta, the vocalist did not shy away from giving the message of unity and inclusion in the Metal Community. The Band also became Corwd’s favorite when they cheered for the EAGLES to win the upcoming Superbowl. The band’s setlist consisted of - “Wave of Death”, “The Art of Partying”, and “Garbage Stomp”. Finally, the stage was cleared for the final act of the night - Kerry King and his band consisted of all the big names of heavy metal Paul Bostaph (Slayer) on the Drums, Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah) on the Bass, Phil Demmel (Machine Head) on the Guitar and Mark Osegueda (Death Angel) on the Vocals. This is literally a supergroup for any heavy metal fan. Kerry King’s presence on the stage was something to definitively watch out for - with the same energy of when he performs with legendary Slayer. The band performed all the songs of the new album - “From Hell I Rise” and some of Slayer numbers like - “Repentless”, “Disciple” and “Raining Blood”. It was truly a great show and we will highly recommend to catch them live while they tour.
