This past Tuesday was nothing short of a movie.  You take a mid-sized 2,000-capacity venue, a stacked lineup of Ultra Q, The Starting Line, The Story So Far, and a sold-out crowd.  It was bound for greatness. Opening the show with Ultra Q was the perfect way to get the room moving.  Bringing that Oakland indie rock sound to the Garden State. The energetic stage presence blended perfectly throughout their 9-song setlist.  Led by frontman Jakob Armstrong, son of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.

Following up as the second act was The Starting Line.  An absolute staple in the pop punk scene for nearly two decades.  It felt like the mid 2000’s seeing them live, performing a good variety of songs from their discography.  The crowd was very responsive throughout the whole set, singing the songs with the band and crowd surfing. Closing out the show was The Story So Far, and they completely blew the roof off the place.  From the moment they stepped on stage, the room was absolutely electric.  Almost every word lead singer Parker Cannon sang was screamed back at him by a sold-out crowd.  Their setlist was comprised of older and newer songs, which was exactly what the people wanted. It was a sea of bodies being surfed over the crowd the whole time.  The Story So Far really came through swinging; New Jersey answered that call and brought that same energy.
